International Oilseed Producers Dialogue
June 25 – June 29, 2017
This summer, the United Soybean Board (USB) joins partners in the global oilseed industry at the 20th International Oilseed Producers Dialogue (IOPD), hosted by the Australian Oilseeds Federation in Sydney. At the annual conference, farmers from across the globe meet to discuss the agricultural pressures they face, the technology they need to overcome these challenges and the importance of access to biotechnology to farm for the future.
USB Chair John Motter represents his fellow soybean farmers at this year’s IOPD. Motter and industry partners from around the world are discussing the regulatory environment and market access to advance the long-term growth of the industry.
In their efforts to reduce input costs, be more sustainable, fight herbicide and fungicide resistance, find new markets, and ensure long-term demand, U.S. farmers need access to biotechnology. But farmers from international oilseed-producing countries are facing the same challenge: hindered access to innovation. Improved access and more innovations can add jobs, improve economies and increase sustainability.
Coming together for 23 years as a group of farmers from diverse backgrounds with a common challenge demonstrates the group’s commitment to improving biotechnology acceptance and market access.
