Agri-View: “Growers manage nematode resistance”
The No. 1 pest causing significant soybean yield loss in North America is the soybean cyst nematode. Results from a United Soybean Board quantitative study reveal more soybean farmers are actively managing that pest thanks to outreach from the Soybean Cyst Nematode Coalition.
Iowa soybean farmer and USB Director Tom Oswald told Agri-View it’s encouraging to learn soybean growers recognize the impact and importance of the checkoff. “With the help of checkoff funding, the Soybean Cyst Nematode Coalition has been successfully disseminating their message about active soybean cyst nematode management to soybean growers, which improves sustainability of U.S. soybean production.”
